Challenge
A mid-market B2B product sat in a crowded category. Messaging said “visibility,” “insights,” and “one platform.” Demos went well. Deals stalled when buyers asked what was actually different. The team kept adding features to the story instead of choosing a customer they were willing to ignore.
Solution
EKA tightened the ICP to a buyer with a specific workflow pain, not a vertical slogan. We named a claim the competitors would not copy because it cut against how they sold. Website, LinkedIn, and the first sales slide were rewritten to that claim. Everyone else in the category stayed generic. They did not.
Result
Discovery calls spent less time on “how are you different.” A few prospects self-selected out, which the team treated as a win. Pipeline got quieter and cleaner. The product roadmap started serving one buyer instead of a committee of maybe-fits.
